It’s time for New Year’s resolution. Don’t forget to add in your Checklist hiking in Kosovo and Albania! Regardless of their small size, Albania and Kosovo offer many activities for all their guests. From mountains to the sea, from archaeological parks to incredible hikes: they have all. The countries are being exciting destinations located in the Balkans to enjoy outdoor activities. 7. Getting lost on beautiful snowy woodlands of Rugova Mountains

Liqenat (also known as Leqinat) is a mountain lake and peak on the border between Kosovo and Montenegro. If you are planning an outdoor day activity – a moderate hiking trip, combined with a picnic in one of the 2 lakes, this place is perfect. This destination is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in Kosovo.

6. Famous Valbona to Theth trail and hiking along Theth and Nderlysa National Parks

Valbona to Theth (Valbona Theth) is one of the most beautiful and popular hikes in the Accursed Mountains (Prokletije). During this hike, you will enjoy the view of the Valbona Valley and then Theth Valley. If you plan to take this hike, you will meet a lot of outdoor enthusiasts from all around the world. The highest peak of this trail is Qafa e Valbones (1’795 m/alt), where the view from there is majestic.

Theth and Nderlysa, are the most beautiful and isolated villages of the Accursed Mountains (Prokletije), therefore in the last years they have become famous destinations for outdoor enthusiasts from all around the world.

5. Enjoy Placidity Of Snow Whiteness in Sharr Mountains

Piribreg is one of the top destinations for outdoor enthusiasts in Kosovo, therefore a lot of people are going there for camping, hiking, snowshoeing, and also skiing. It is located in Sharr Mountains the elevation of this peak is 2’524 m/alt. The starting point for this peak is the ski resort in Brezovica.

4. Gjallica mountain, the balcony of Northern Albania

Gjallica mountain (Gjallica e Lumës) is an outstanding mountain located in the northeast of Albania, in the region of Kukës, and it is the highest mountain there. The highest peak of this mountain is called the Gjallica peak, and its elevation is 2’489 m/alt, and from the top, you have a stunning view of the city of Kukës, Albanian Alps, Koritnik mountain, Pashtrik mountain, and many more.

Because it is the highest in that region, and its shape, it is called the Balcony of the Nothern Albania.

3. A staggering perspective of the Accursed mountains while ascending Gjeravica top

Gjeravica, 2656 m/alt is officially the highest peak in Kosovo (unofficially is Rudoka 2’658 m/alt). It is the second-highest peak in the Accursed Mountains (Prokletije) after Maja Jezerce 2’694 m/alt. The view of the Accursed Mountains from the top of Gjeravica is extremely impressive!

2. Grama bay and Shën Andre Bay – the heaven on Earth

Grama Bay and Shën Andre Bay are on top of the most beautiful outdoor destinations I’ve ever seen. Located in an unexplored part of Albania, the Bays remain to be virgins. Hiking from Palasë to Shen Andre first, and then to Grama Bay, is one of the most beautiful hikes in southern Albania.

1. Hiking in Lëpushë up to Talijakna peak

Lëpushë is a small village located in Northern Albania, the border between Albania and Montenegro. It is part of the Kelmend region, in Shkodër. Lëpushë is very well known for its beautiful nature and as a great destination and as a great strategic point for hiking trails.

The best view is hiking up to Talijanka peak, where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Karafili massif. Read more: Lepushe
