These terms apply to alpventurer.com, my personal blog about hiking and travel photography. By using the site you agree to them. How I handle personal data is in the Privacy Policy, and you can reach me at hello@alpventurer.com.
1. What this site is
alpventurer is free to read. There is no account and nothing to buy here. The guides describe hikes I did myself, with my own photographs, maps and GPS tracks. They are personal trip reports and inspiration, not a guiding service.
2. Hiking is at your own risk
Mountains change. A trail that was fine when I walked it can be washed out, closed, overgrown, snowed in or badly marked by the time you go. Weather, season, your fitness and your gear make a huge difference.
So, please:
- Treat everything on this site (times, distances, heights, difficulty, water sources, huts, transport, prices and opening hours) as a starting point that may be out of date.
- Check the current conditions, the weather and local rules before you set off, and ask locally when you can.
- Do not rely on my maps or GPX tracks alone to find your way. Carry a proper map, a charged phone or GPS device, and know how to use them.
- Turn back when it does not feel right. Respect closures, private land, protected areas and border rules.
- Know the local emergency number (112 works across Europe) and tell someone where you are going.
You decide whether a route suits you, and you are responsible for your own safety and for anyone in your group.
3. Accuracy
I write carefully and update guides when I learn something has changed, but I cannot promise that every detail is complete, correct or current. If you spot something wrong, write to me at hello@alpventurer.com and I will fix it.
4. Liability
The information on this site is free. I am liable without limitation for damage I cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health that I am responsible for. Otherwise, I am not liable for damage that results from using the free information on this site, including accidents, injuries, lost items or costs on a hike.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.
5. Photographs, texts and GPS tracks
All photographs, texts, maps and GPS tracks on alpventurer.com are mine (© Granit Temaj) unless a credit says otherwise. They are protected by copyright.
You may:
- read, print and save pages for your own personal use;
- download a GPX track to use on your own hike;
- share a link to any page.
You may not, without my written permission:
- copy, republish or sell my photographs or texts, on a website, social media, in print or anywhere else;
- pass on or publish my GPX tracks, or use them in an app, a map service or a commercial product;
- use my photographs or texts to train or feed an AI system.
Want to use a photograph, for print, a publication or a project? Ask me at hello@alpventurer.com. I am happy to talk about licences.
6. Links to other websites
Guides link to other websites, such as maps, transport, huts and Instagram. I choose them carefully, but I have no control over them and am not responsible for their content. If a link turns out to break the law, tell me and I will remove it.
7. Comments
You are welcome to comment. Please be kind and stay on topic. Do not post anything illegal, insulting, discriminatory, advertising or spam, or anything that infringes someone else's rights. I may edit or delete comments that break these rules, and I am not obliged to publish every comment. You remain responsible for what you write. By posting a comment, you allow me to show it on the site.
8. Newsletter
The newsletter is free and only starts after you confirm your address. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. The Privacy Policy explains how it works.
9. Supporting the blog
Some guides have a link to support the blog (Buy Me a Coffee or PayPal). A support payment is a voluntary gift. It does not buy any service, product or special access, and it cannot be refunded except where the law requires it. The terms of the service you pay through apply to the payment.
10. Changes
I may update these terms when the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. The version that applies is the one on this page when you use the site.
11. Law
German law applies. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection that the mandatory laws of your country give you. If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.
